CV of Prof. Hans Hagemann
Hans Hagemann is currently working in two quite different research fields. The first one focuses on the cristal chemistry of inorganic host materials doped with rare earth ions, in particular divalent europium (in persistent phophor or white emitting materials) and samarium. The second one treats fundamental studies of boron hydrogen compounds in relation to hydrogen storage and battery applications. Hans Hagemann obtained his PhD in 1984 with Professor Hans Bill at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and joined Professor H. L. Strauss and Dr R.G. Snyder at UC Berkeley for a postdoc. In 1987 he returned to the University of Geneva as a research associate. He was promoted Associate Professor in 2013 at the Physical Chemistry Department of the University of Geneva. He has published about 160 peer reviewed papers and is coinventor for 2 patents. He is also serving as the scientific supervisor of the outreach program of the chemistry department “chimiscope” which welcomes school classes for some fascinating activities.
